  32. and knowledge of the A1200.

  37. The A1200+ could possibly be much better but the current A1200 will never 
  38. be changed.  Why are you crapping on this machine anyways?  You say you 
  39. own an A2000, wouldn't it be much more wise for you to upgrade to a more 
  40. reasonably priced A4000t (when they are available) then downgrade 
  41. (expansion wise) to an A1200?  Sure the A1200 stock is out of date now 
  42. and has some quirks.. this argument will be moot ayways when the A1200+ 
  43. comes out... but more then likely you will find something new to crap on 
  44. as that seems to be the type of person you are.

  51. Who HAS been happy with ANY stock version of an Amiga? The Hard Drive 
  52. option on some of them was a bit better but normally you had to add a 
  53. second floppy drive at least, add 1 - 2 more MEGs of memory at least, add 
  54. a Hard Drive if it didn't come with one and you needed it/price was right 
  55. (in the past) and in some cases add a new CPU to increase performance.  
  56. This again is all depending on what the buyer is using the computer for.. 
  57. not everyone needs killer machines.  For the people who bought the A1200, 
  58. at least they DO have a computer and at least they DO have an Amiga, if 
  59. everything was the way you wanted it on the A1200, it would reduce the 
  60. amount of people buying it due to the increased cost to produce it.  At 
  61. least when they HAVE the computer, they are more inclinded to upgrade it 
  62. when they can to make it better instead of ditching it and buying a whole 
  63. new/different computer system to do the same sorts of things.  With the 
  64. new approach of marketing the A1200 via the surfer pack, this is a great 
  65. low end, minimum technology one would use/need to get on the web/internet 
  66. that a lot of people could go for instead of waiting to buy a more 
  67. expensive PC to do the same thing.

  75. That is not due to the machine but due to its owners.. Commodore. The 
  76. selling in a tire store remark, I wouldn't care where they were selling 
  77. them as long as they got exposure to the general public.

  80. for example when it came out, there would be less Amigas and Amigans out 
  81. there and the interest in the technology would have faded to the point 
  82. that no would would want to buy it to continue developing it thus no need 
  83. for the Team Amiga that you claim to be a part of.

  90. Because you are going after 1 of the 2 current Amiga models in 
  91. production, one of which, the one you are crapping on, is the one (until 
  92. the A1200+ comes out) that will be able to be afforded by the masses to 
  93. do an adequate job as an entry level computer and will get Amigas and the 
  94. name into the homes faster then an A4000t and the future Power Amiga would.

  96. I bet if you were a salesmen in an Escom shop, you would be one of those 
  97. ones that would rather sell someone a PC over an A1200 even if you were 
  98. hired to sell Amigas.
